The “Summer Book Club 2026” program ended
The “Summer Book Club 2026” program ended at the Ara Sargsyan and Hakob Kojoyan House-Museum. The last, fourth meeting-discussion took place within the framework of the program, which was conducted by the book club’s moderator, Nana Mkrtchyan. At this meeting, the participants discussed chapters 9-12 of the book.
At the beginning of the discussion, the participants mentioned why in this part of the book the word “I” is considered “god” or something sacred, and how this one word changes a person’s way of thinking. They also talked about how a group can make an individual truly happy and whether real happiness comes only from an individual’s own independent choices and feelings.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants addressed the question of what is the boundary between being a useful member of the community and losing personal freedom as a result of the group’s demands.
This book club became a platform for the discussion and analysis of another work related to objectivist philosophy among young people.
