The seventh meeting and discussion of the “Winter Book Club 2026” program took place.
The “Winter Book Club 2026” program continues at the Ara Sargsyan and Hakob Kojoyan House-Museum, within the framework of which the seventh meeting-discussion took place. It was conducted by the book club moderator Hripsime Voskanyan. At this meeting, the participants discussed chapters 9-11 of the second part of the book.
At the beginning of the discussion, the participants mentioned what goals seven-year-old Toohey was pursuing when he spoke out against Johnny Stokes in public. Then, each of the participants defined who the humanitarian was and whether any of the characters under discussion were humanitarian.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants addressed the question of what Rand implies about creation, purpose, and human will, which can seem “divine” without any religion. The relationship between Malloy and Roark was also discussed and how important Roark is there.
At the end of the discussion, the book club participants were given information about the upcoming group assignment, the goal of which is to get to know each other and have interesting philosophical conversations beyond book discussions.
