“Ayn Rand’s philosophy as a first aid to traditional societies. The Armenian case”
The “Objectivism Vol.1 School” program is in progress. Within the framework of the sixth course-discussion of the program, speaker Diana Hovhannisyan presented the participants with “Ayn Rand’s philosophy as a first aid to traditional societies. The Armenian case” theme.
At the beginning of the course-discussion, the speaker presented the social values operating in different societies. Then, moving to Armenia, the constitutional articles related to discrimination and human freedom were presented.
A comparative description of traditional and modern social customs was given, giving examples from the Armenian reality. The differences that exist in the perceptions of Armenians and foreigners regarding Armenia were singled out.
The speech continued with the presentation of Rand’s ideas on traditional social order, the phenomenon of “Brother’s keeping” was specially mentioned.
