The second meeting-discussion of the “Fall Book Club 2025” program took place, which was held by the book club moderators Julia Abrahamyan and Gevorg Petrosyan.
At this meeting, the participants discussed the first and second chapters of the book, which dealt with the topics of “Kay Gonda” and “George S. Perkins”.
During the discussion, the participants addressed the question of what is so strange about the character of Kay Gonda and whether her “selfish” character is fair to the people around her. The question was also addressed whether the character of Perkins was constantly under emotional or moral pressure, and whether his steps could be viewed as attempts to avoid realism.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants shared their opinions on the final decision of the character of Perkins. It was also noted whether Ayn Rand viewed this as a moralfailure or a conscious moment.
