The program «Hello Objectivism 2024» is in progress.
During the second course-discussion, the speaker Yeranuhi Manukyan presented to the participants «Epistemology. Reason over Emotions» topic.
At the beginning of the course, the speaker gave the definitions of reason and emotions from the Objectivist point of view. Intelligence was defined as the ability that enables individuals to understand reality through logic, evidence, and rational thought. Emotions as subjective experiences that influence perception and decision-making.
In the second part of the course, it was noted that Objectivist epistemology advocates reason as the primary means of acquiring knowledge and rejects the concepts of faith or mysticism.
Participants analyzed the role of reason and emotion in the cognitive process, writing down their strengths and weaknesses and interactions.
