The fifth meeting-discussion of the “Winter Book Club 2024” program took place, which was conducted by the book club’s moderator, Hripsime Voskanyan.
At this meeting, the participants discussed the ninth and tenth chapters of the book, which dealt with the topics “Art and Moral Treason” and “Introduction to Ninety-Three”.At the beginning of an interesting and constructive discussion, the participants addressed the question of why people often associate impracticability with idealism.
In the second part of the meeting, the attendees noted that, according to Rand, romantic art promotes moral courage. Examples were presented of how art can serve as a “lifeline” in difficult times. It was also discussed whether an artist’s work can be separated from her personal philosophy.
The Winter Book Club is coming to an end. The final meeting-discussion will take place next week, at the end of which the program graduates will be awarded graduation certificates.The participants are eagerly awaiting ARCA’s upcoming programs…
