“Ayn Rand Integrations. Aristotle, Nietzsche and Epictetus”
The “John Galt School” Armenia program continues. Within the framework of the sixth course-discussion of the program, the speaker Hripsime Voskanyan presented to the participants “Ayn Rand Integrations. Aristotle, Nietzsche and Epictetus” theme.
At the beginning of the discussion, the speaker presented the characteristics of Aristotle’s philosophy, the main ideological trends. Then, in general terms, similarities between Objectivism and Aristotelian philosophy were discussed, Aristotle’s influence on Rand’s philosophy was mentioned.
Continuing the speech, the participants were introduced to the philosophy of Epictetus, his thoughts and the influence he left on later philosophers were highlighted.In the second part of the course, Nietzsche’s philosophy was discussed, the main principles of philosophy and the connection with Objectivism and Rand were highlighted.
During the discussion, the participants answered what Stoicism is and whether it is similar to Objectivism.
