The fourth meeting-discussion of the “Fall Book Club 2025” program took place, hosted by book club moderators Julia Abrahamyan and Gevorg Petrosyan.
In this meeting, participants discussed the fifth chapter of the book, which dealt with the topic of “Claude Ignatius Hix.” During the discussion, participants addressed the question of whether the physical decay of the Temple of Eternal Truth of the Spirit symbolizes the spiritual state of Claude Ignatius Hix. Then, opinions were expressed about the part of the book when Kay Gonda arrives at the Temple late at night and how her presence challenges or confirms Hix’s beliefs about divine and moral purity.
In the second part of the meeting, participants noted that at the end of this chapter, Hix decides to betray Kay Gonda in order to protect his church and reputation. The discussion focused on whether Hix truly believes he is acting justly or whether he is aware of his hypocrisy.
