The “Wine and Philosophy Discussion” series launched
The “Wine and Philosophy Discussion” series of meetings for ARCA Network members was launched at the Ara Sargsyan and Hakob Kojoyan House-Museum.
During the meetings, accompanied by wine, Ayn Rand’s book “Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology” will be discussed.
The first meeting was about the first chapter of the book, “Cognition and Measurement”.
In this chapter, Ayn Rand explains that human consciousness is an active process that recognizes reality by distinguishing and uniting, starting with sensations, moving on to perception, and then reaching the level of concepts. She shows that the ideas of units and measurement are the basis for human thinking and knowledge, because through them a person is able to make the world recognizable and measurable within the limits of his consciousness.
